Here is a great analysis of Amazon showing how effectively it competes with multi-channel retailers and B2B catalogers. It is well worth your time to read this and begin to formulate your competitive strategy. What can you do better than Amazon? I also suspect that it will not be long before other B2B marketplaces are launched. I wonder what Google, Ebay and even Facebook might be planning. Any B2B cataloger will need to figure out how to compete against new competitors like Amazon and other marketplaces.
